404 error page
SUMMARY
It’s pretty frustrating when you land upon a 404 error page, but what if we made it engaging and funny? Taking it upon myself, I challenged myself into creating just that. A 404 page is an error page or where a page is not found.
GOALS
My goal in this project was to learn how to do a simple animation. I did attempt Adobe Animate to complete this project, however, with the timeline I ended up continuing with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I did learn more than I previously knew about Animate, even though I was not able to complete the project using this application. With the amount of frames used for the timeline, I am still proud of the accomplishment and the animation created.
DESIGN PROCESS
IDEATION EXERCISES
For ideating, we participated in stickies and speed sketches. Stickies is my favorite as we have a timer running and jot down any idea we have (good or bad) and keep going. I love getting all the bad ideas out and sometimes these ideas lead to great ones. We also did speed sketches were we divided a paper up into eight sections. Utilizing both sides, a timer is set and we try to sketch ideas the entire time in each section.

FINAL DESIGN
These three ideas came from the stickies exercise. On one sticky note I had the word coconut, and when doing the speed sketching, I expanded upon the word and thought of a beach scene with a coconut falling on a man's head. Also from the word coconut, I evolved to the treasure map when speed sketching. For the middle idea, I had come up with this from the word robbery from the stickies exercise.

ADOBE EXPRESS BUILD
Much of the project was done in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Every frame was made in Illustrator and then moved to Photoshop to create a frame timeline which eventually turned into an mp4. Adobe Express was only used as a place to place the mp4 video and to publish to the web, creating a link that can be found below.

KNOWLEDGE GAINED
Though I did not utilize it in the final design of the project, I learned the basics of Adobe Animate. After watching many videos, I was able to make a short (and extremely simple) animation. I did this because I was wanting to try to use the software for this project, but as I kept going, I realized that it would be a little more complicated.
